About NCEPU
Founded in 1958, NCEPU is one of the "211 Project" universities under jurisdiction of China's Ministry of Education and is supported by the Ministry of Education and 7 largest electric power groups in China. It has campuses in Beijing (main campus) and Baoding, Hebei province.
NCEPU is a comprehensive university with a wide variety of disciplines such as Engineering, Science, Arts, Economics, Management, Law, etc. with Engineering as its leading one. At present, NCEPU comprises 9 schools and offers 45 bachelor’s degree programs, 46 master’s degree programs, 14 doctoral degree programs and 2 postdoctoral programs.
The library of the university covers an area of 39,300 m2 with a collection of more than one million books.
There are 35,000 students studying in NCEPU, 19,000 at the undergraduate level, 5,300 at the graduate level, and about 100 international students .NCEPU boasts excellent faculty. There are 1506 professional teachers, including 3 Academicians of China Engineering Academy, 656 Professors and Associate Professors as well as 66 PhD supervisors. At the same time, foreign teachers are annually invited as a helpful supplement to our staff.
Undertaken by the university, the research program of space flight simulator to facilitate the astronaut training for the launch mission of "Shenzhou 5" manned spacecraft won a national award.
The university has established cooperative relationships with universities, scientific institutions, companies, and enterprises from over twenty countries and regions including the United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, Germany, Korea, Japan, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. A variety of academic exchanges have been carried out in the fields of the scientific research projects, new product development, cooperative education and so on.
